They never answer the phone. Like never. I have called them probably 5+ times and after 20+ minute long waits, I have yet to have a someone actually pick up the phone. Its honestly pretty sad.

Also their decision to no longer open on Saturdays is just low-down and insulting, in my opinion. Basically any working man or women with a traditional "9-to-5" job will have to take an entire day off to visit. You would think that the working class would be the type of people CMP is trying to serve, but I guess not. I guess its only for retirees, tourists, and rich people now. I hate it, and it's sad to see it being managed like this.

Today I had my first experience with the CMP South store and it was great! All of the staff were helpful and they had exactly what I wanted in stock. The purchasing process was streamlined and I did not encounter a single issue. I am glad I made the five hour trip to this store!

What a truly fantastic experience! Wanted to make the trip for years and pick out M1s that will one day be my sons' rifles. These are real pieces of history.

very nice people were helpful. I had to drive 7 hours to get there. absolutely wonderful experience you must go to the store and find your own rifle. I'm very happy with my purchase. the staff is excellent. met some really nice collectors that were there that day.

I can no longer recommend their customer service because they don't return your phone calls and don't read their emails anymore (proof attached). Ever since the pandemic, they have really dropped off in their customer service department. I have ordered a lot of ammo from them in the past, but apparently, returning a telephone call from 3 days ago is not high on their list of things to do. I did try emailing them twice, and there was no response from them yet. Over the course of 4 business days, they have enough time to delete my email, but not enough time to read it and respond to it. I will change my review if they start answering questions again.

I drove down there a to buy a 1903a1 Springfield of a small batch that CMP got in. I ended up leaving with a post WW2 M1 Garand. Glad I did the trip, I also got to hand select the rifle. Even then there will be buyers remorse do to choice of shooter vs collection rifle. I went with the first and didn't get a 1903, I should have bought both M1 and 1903. Now I would like a old stock for storage of cleaning kit, not a new production that doesn't have it and slightly proud wood. Looks good though.. ?
The staff are very interested in helping you out and very knowledgeable on rifles, Civilian Marksmanship program (the ones I talked with) with that be respectful. The one who your talking with might be a lot more knowledgeable about it than you or you think you are.
I have been back there a few more times, I was planning on going back until the latest problems. ( C.V. 19) now to make the trip down again since re-opening.
