It's very peaceful. Little hard to find without signs if not a local. The Confederate Soldiers built the fort after Union Soldiers over took the train, which still runs nearby. Also beautiful view of TN River.

Feels like it is off the beaten path, but another great little side-stop if you are in the area. A very-well preserved Civil War era fort in a well-kept setting. I was the only person here, and it was very peaceful with the sound of trains in the distance. The fort only takes a few minutes to explore.

They need more signs showing the way to the Fort. I've lived in this area for over 60 years and didn't know it existed. There is not a lot to see but if you are into history and close by you should visit. The grounds were well kept and plenty of parking. The parking is fairly flat but getting up to the fort might be difficult for someone handicapped.

Interesting fort with power post evenly spaced along those outside rim and larger power post in the center. Nice views of the water and wild geese on the far side rim.

This is a beautiful setting for a photo shoot! We had our maternity pictures done here, as well as some Easter pictures for our one year old this spring. All of them turned out perfectly! Gorgeous water, green grass, rustic old fence, perfect combination.
