First time I was in there and damn that was good. Plus reasonable price. Can't beat this place. Great hamburger great hot dog and iced tea for 10 bucks plus it was really tasty. Totally recommend

Classic simple burgers and dogs place. The food is simply delicious and they are not chasing any food trends that come and go. The chili is probably their standout food. The menu is not expansive like other “canteens” to the in the Bridgeport area but they stick what they are good at. The staff is relaxed and feels like a giant family that they invite you into while you are there.

Called in for a burger, arrived Burger was ready. Ate and wow just as good as I can remember, I love that classic American Cheese taste from the extra cheese they put in. 9/10 local burger joint! Top notch people working there

Mr. Mac's Canteen is one of my favorite spots to go to get a great simple meal. They have something for everyone. My go-to every time is the chili dogs they are best. But watch out that chili has a kick it's spicy but had amazing flavor. Also, there are milkshakes that are great. Try cherry banana, my sons favorite.

The roadside hot dog stand is not a thing of the past. It exists right here in Monroe Connecticut. Drive out of your way, get a hot dog. It's a destination. You can also get anything else on the menu, but for my money this is where you go for hot dogs. In particular, chili dogs: super spicy, super delicious. I'm also a fan of their BLT on a Portuguese roll. This is not an overstuffed BLT, just the right combination of each ingredient presented perfectly.

A cozy little place with great food for great prices. My current go-to is the Bacon Egg & Cheeseburger, which is exactly what it sounds like. The staff is great and gets orders processed and paid for within moments. A great place for quick grill and diner food.
