Not a surprise that there aren't any reviews about this place. Not like that many people can shop here.

Thats not to say that this neighborhood is so scarce that no one goes to a butcher, but people probably travel down Ditmars to one of the better quality ones.

In the two times I've come here, I've never bought anything from this guy. The first time I came, I asked for a skirt steak. The guy pulled out the whole slab in an airtight package and wanted to charge me $50 for it. It was only for me, so I didn't need that much. When asked if he could cut it and trim it to something smaller, like around $20-25 worth, he refused, and I left. Any butcher down Ditmars closer to 31st will be fine with that request.

My second occasion coming here just the other day, I asked if he had Flank steak. Of course, most places do carry it, but not this guy. I wanted to ask him "is there any thing that you DO carry? or do for that matter?", but held back and just left and took a bus down Ditmars. I wonder how this place is still in business - serving whatever meats you deem worthy of serving and not catering to what your customers want just seems like a bad business model. Or maybe he's a butcher that caters to vegetarians... that might explain why he doesn't have any of the usual cuts of beef and doesn't like to cut them. I'm just venting my frustration because I had to walk 15 minutes in ice cold weather to a regular butcher after leaving this place because the guy doesn't carry any of the cuts of beef i happen to be looking for.
