This is a very big station with 4 platforms for quick boarding. It is pretty clean and has a huge parking garage that is connected to the station with a pedestrian bridge. They also have lots of available trains including Metro North and Amtrak service.

Possibly the busiest, but also the best, train station in the state of Connecticut. The staff is polite and happy to give you information about the downtown area. Even the billboards know it's a good alternative to I-95 and its moon craters, see pix.

Does this train station need a bit of an update... yes... is the parking situation easy... no... is it a quick trip to NYC... yes! Listen if you want a great suburb to live in and commute to the city then Stamford is the spot for you! The amount of express trains to the city in the morning and home in the evening are amazing! Stamford is an amazing place to live for a daily commute to the city!

I visited here in 2000, and the Train Station stop has a better schedule(more stops), so we decided to park and hit NYC from here. Nice big station, everyone I had questions for was glad to help me with good answers. One older Gentleman led us upstairs to the ticket counter. Super nice staff at Dunkin Donuts as well.

One half of the station is completely inaccessible due to the worst planning Iโ€™ve ever seen in my life: closing both the escalator and the elevator at the same time. Had to have my ride drive around the entire station to the other side to pick me up.

Stamford Station will likely be renovated, but first, its garage renovation, then station buildings and improvements coming to Stamford.

My Amtrak was to come at 6am. Based on other reviews I arrived 1 hr early to prepare to get lost. No where anywhere does it say anything about where you get picked up from Amtrak specifically. Finally figured out it was track 4 in case that helps anyone. You enter by going between Dunkin and the help desk. Thereโ€™s stairs back there and additional seating. No one is available for help at a desk until 630am just a heads up. Just double check the small screens on the track itself to clarify. None of the computers work in the main waiting area you have to walk to the track to see the proper direction. This could have been bc it was 6am. Only 1 end of the upstairs has a heated area for seating. So avoid going towards the parking lot there are no seats. Lots of closed off stairs and escalators. Thank goodness Dunkinโ€™ Donuts was at least open.
