When I first found them, I thought HH was the kind of familiar small, local hardware store that was being pushed out by big box stores. However I think what really sets them apart is that the people there are extremely personable, thoughtful, and “human”, especially compared with the big box stores. While staff at both might be very “knowledgeable”, I felt like the folks at HH were actually listening to me, cared about my problems, and weren’t just focusing on some corporate agenda. They even went above and beyond to deliver some things to me for a project.

What’s maybe more surprising though is that their prices, website, and stock quality were all better than or competitive with nationwide chains. They’re a bit out of the way for me, but I’ll always prefer to shop and work with them whenever possible!

Crazy overpriced. > $30 for a bag of ice melt. Double than Ace price, not even talking about Home Depot or Walmart.

My first trip here was to get a sled for my daughter due to an upcoming storm. I was incredibly delighted I stopped by Hemlock Hardware. I found the sleds within a second, but walked around for about 15 minutes amazed at their inventory. I told my wife and she went in, on another occasion, and was equally delighted and excited to have this store in our town. The store employees were incredibly friendly and helpful; content to let us wonder, but quick to answer and show us anything we might be looking for. On our third trip, together this time, we signed up for the loyalty card, as we will definitely be back!

I came to Hemlock Hardware looking to buy a Weber grill. The store was neat and organized well and had great customer service.
They told me they would deliver the grill fully assembled for free the next day. They ended up showing up shortly after with my grill, along with a long ladder I couldn't fit in my car. Looking forward to using them moving forward.

I'm exceedingly impressed with these folks--we had a party arranged, realized the day before that our old patio furniture was falling apart and couldn't accommodate the number of people we were having, and swung by to ask Hemlock's advice. They made excellent suggestions, sold us a set at a not crazy price, and brought it out and set it up THAT DAY, within two hours. Really good work from a local store--nice job, guys.

Recently purchased a new Weber grill from the team at Hemlock. I was in the market for a few months and visited multiple stores to compare models and perform my due diligence. I would expect the customer service to be better than the big box stores, but the Hemlock team was far more helpful and patient than a number of local Ace and True Value alternatives. Every member of the team was extremely knowledgeable and knew the grills in and out. Tim and the team went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied with my purchase. Prices on these things are generally set by the manufacturer so if you're in the market for a Weber there's no need to go anywhere else.

Ordered a grill online in the morning and it was delivered to my house free of charge, completely assembled by the afternoon!! The guys delivering it were very nice and accommodating. They took the initiative to connect the grill to our propane tank to ensure it worked. I would hands down recommend purchasing anything from Hemlock Hardware!
