1-Star Review – Avoid Lia Hyundai of Enfield - Especially if you have engine issues (which these cars are known for)

I had an awful experience with Lia Hyundai of Enfield, and I strongly recommend avoiding this dealership for service and repairs.

1. Horrible Communication & Service
When I first called, I was told this would be a routine process (7-10 business days), and that Hyundai Corporate would provide a rental car once my case was submitted. That never happened. I received zero updates for 14 business days. They did not return my voicemails, text messages, or form inquiries submitted on their website.

2. Ignored My Main Concerns & Pushed an Unnecessary Repair
Instead of addressing the actual engine problems that I dropped the car off for, the dealership claimed I needed a $900 starter replacement before they could even begin diagnostics. I was told that if an engine issue was found, the starter cost would be reimbursed—but after replacing the starter, they simply said, “The car runs fine” and refused to investigate further without charging more.

3. Refused to Properly Diagnose the Engine
Despite my car stalling while driving, they never test-drove it—only ran it inside the shop. Of course, the engine won’t stall while idling. They then claimed there were no error codes and refused to perform additional tests unless I paid extra—even though this is a known issue with Hyundai engines.

4. Dismissive & Unprofessional Staff
When I initially dropped my car off, the service advisor wasn’t even listening to my concerns—he was playing a game on his phone. That should have been my first red flag.

Eventually, Nikole Goodman was put on our case, who couldn’t have been more snarky, uncooperative, and completely unfit for a customer service role. Google her name, and you’ll see the reviews. Hyundai would be wise to review their personnel.

5. Misleading About Warranty Coverage
After everything, they told me Hyundai wouldn’t cover the engine diagnostics anyway—so why accept my car in the first place if they had no intention of diagnosing it?

Final Thoughts: This dealership wasted my time, ignored safety concerns, and charged me for a repair that didn’t address the real issue. Now I have a car that won't turn on, I paid $600 for, and it's not even worth that. If you need serious repairs, go somewhere else.

Bought extended warranty for issues and now that we have one we are getting the run around. The most unprofessional car people we have dealt with. Mike and Mellisa the manager are running us in circles. Car is losing oil. After oil change and come back in 1,000 miles we were 3 quarts of oil low, they did a combustion cleaning which took a few days. We'll the problem continued, again charged us over 100$ to repeat oil change drive 1000 miles come back. We vide taped the dip stick this morning before we went because of how poorly we've been treated. Upon pick up there saying the gas cap was not on right and did an evap evaluation, saying we are only down 1/2 quart of oil (which is not true as we have the video this morning and a witness other then ourselves) THEN CHARGED US 180$ AND SENT US ON OUR WAY AGAIN! The manager said it's hyundais policy it's normal to burn up to 1 quart every 1,000 miles! Yet they performed the conbution cleaning already because we burned 3 quarts the first time. We know what there doing, there pushing it as far as they can so my extended warranty runs out. The guy mike at one point hung up the phone on me, and when I called back told me he thinks he lost the call. The manager said to me if it was burning over 1 quart in 1,000 miles we would replace the motor. IT ALREADY DID WHEN YOU DID THE CONBUTION CLEANING!!!! So now we have to go above them and fiqure out how to get this situation rectified! I will not stop untill justice is served. Stay away from this place terrible business! They were annoyed from the start. Can't wait to see there reply here on the reviews and there bullet crap clarifications.

From the moment I walked in to the time I took delivery of my vehicle, I had a great experience. I worked with Hunter on the sales team. He was genuine, professional, and respectful of time. He knew what I was interested in and did not try to hard sell anything. Carlos and Brian on the finance side of the house were also a pleasure to work with. Lastly, the gentleman who detailed my car (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) was incredibly talented. Everyone was straight forward and went above and beyond to guarantee a happy customer. They were able to turn deal breakers around with their creative solutions. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle.

My wife and I came here after unsuccessful interactions at other dealerships. Anthony Zalowski met us at the door. He was polite, professional, expedient, and got us everything we wanted in a car. I've never purchased a car in the same day I went to look for one, but Anthony made it easy. I didn't have to try and haggle or wheel and dealz I told him what we were looking for and he found the right fit for us. Hyundais are dependable and have a great warranty, but the service we got from the sales department at the Lia location is a cut above the rest! Thanks Anthony Z for everything!

Hello, I don't usually do this, but I have to do it... a while ago I took my 2017 Hyundai Sonata to have it checked because it started with a major fault... they told me in service that a lot of codes came up and that they were offering me a new engine, those who serve in the car service area... The guy told me what the mechanic had said and that there are a lot of codes and I told him what the next step would be... you know that they didn't even check properly, the only thing they did was put a machine and a lot of codes came out and that's why they were offering me a new engine and also the Hyundai had no warranty for that engine with a mileage of just 47,000. They didn't check properly and some time passed and in another place they found water in gasoline and a number of things happened, I want this to reach the bigwigs at Hyundai and the service supervisor. It's disrespectful and I don't recommend that dealer for checkups... thank you and there were also few professionals.
