Do not use this company!!! RUN!!!! With one year left on my lease (which I wanted to terminate but it was so damn expensive to do it), they disabled our meter saying that the government put new regulations in place and our machine was no longer compliant. Only option was to upgrade (at a higher price and lock in to a new lease which I don't want or need) or pay a 'settlement' fee. It's a total scam!!!!! I asked to simply term my lease since the equipment under contract DOES NOT PRINT POSTAGE. Nope, they won't budge. They're not getting another dime from me. Period. This simply cannot be legal. Based on the reviews I've read, this is a pattern of theirs to never let people out of leases or fleece them into paying bullshit settlement fees.

Do not do business with this company. I can honestly say without hyperbole it is the worst vendor I have ever worked with. They lock you into a long lease that is difficult and costly to get out of. Their customer service is intentionally unhelpful and misleading. You are not given a customer service agent to assist with your needs, so you have no choice but to navigate the intentionally messy maze of customer service support cases and phone calls. If you have billing issues, and you *will* have billing issues because they nickel and dime at every turn and are the most trigger happy on late fees I have ever seen, you will struggle to get a resolution to your issue. On one occasion my company was charged a late fee on a payment that we had made on time. But on Pitney Bowes' side of things, they applied the payment to the wrong account. When I tried navigating the maze to get the late fee removed, I was told we would have to pay the late fee and there was nothing they could do. Even though it was caused by their mistake. It is clear their employees are scripted and trained to be unclear and misleading. When I called to return our postage meter upon finally ending our 5 year lease, I specifically asked if my company or Pitney Bowes would be paying for the shipment cost. All the employee would say is to repeat the line "you will receive a prepaid shipping label." Sure enough, the next day I received an email saying we need to pay $150 for shipping the machine. Apparently prepaid means prepaid by the customer, even though I was not told that when I specifically asked. Pitney Bowes is running on a reputation that they stopped deserving long ago. They have reached a status of appearing inescapable as if they hold a monopoly on third parties that can provide interfacing with USPS via postage machines, business reply mail, etc. I wish USPS could provide these services themselves and keep the money made from it, because they would do a far better job (think about that for a minute...) and could charge the consumer less because they'd cut out the middle man who is siphoning off funds between the consumer and USPS. Fortunately alternative third parties do exist. I STRONGLY recommend you do your research and choose an alternative third party. Do NOT sign with Pitney Bowes, or you'll regret being lost in their intentionally messy maze. If you're currently signed with them, get out as soon as possible. It is far more helpful and more sane on the other side of the fence.

Terrible Customer Service Outsourced. Pitney Bowes has wasted my teams time for two days giving us the run around to get our postage and stamps to work. When I try to contact sales the phone hangs up. I guess they don't want business and wont mind this one star review.

If you like having your business operate poorly, and you want to waste time and money choose Pitney Bowes

I have been a packaging vendor for over 10 years for PB. They have switched to another vendor without contacting me & giving me a heads up. We have been stocking their shipping boxes on our warehouse floor for a JIT program. With absolutely NO communication they are sticking us with 42,000 boxes. I have reached out multiple times to multiple people with absolutely NO responses. I have been in this industry 41 years in sales and NEVER EVER have been treated like this. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.

Critical Insights into Pitney Bowes "irrevocable" Equipment Lease Agreement

The lease agreement clearly stipulates that once entered, it is irrevocable: 10 "You may not cancel this Lease for any reason, and all payment obligations under this Lease are unconditional." This clause implies a stringent commitment, disallowing any form of cancellation and mandating unwavering adherence to payment obligations, regardless of circumstances.

During our experience, we were presented with a 5 years lease term. Awareness of the early termination penalty is essential; however, it is equally important to note that the contract requires fulfillment until its conclusion. A particularly surprising aspect was the inflexibility regarding the insurance coverage on the unit. Despite not possessing the machine any longer, we found it impossible to discontinue the insurance payments designated for it.

This review aims not to dissuade but to inform potential customers of the stringent conditions embedded within Pitney Bowes' leasing agreements.

Pitney Bowes is one of the worst companies I have ever done business with. I tried a free trial of PitneyShip. I did not like it at all. I cancelled before the free trial ended. But Pitney Bowes charged my business for a month of service anyway. I have made multiple calls to Pitney to get a refund and they say they can only send a paper check. In response to my calls, I get confusing emails. I still have not received my refund of $16.30. Phone customer service is abhorrent. Managing an account online is too. This company is HIGHLY unorganized. My brother, who works for the federal government, also had to deal with Pitney Bowes (at work) for other services and has had the same kinds of experiences. I recommend choosing services from a better company. I have to honestly, bluntly, and plainly say that Pitney Bowes is not a good company. My next step is to my state's attorney general and senator's office for advocacy and legal action. As I give all my reviews a grade, I will do so here. This is Grade F.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN 30+ YEARS IN BUSINESS. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. NOT HERE.
After meter troubles for months I terminated my contract and was owed $260.93 in postage in the meter. The journey to the Pitney Bowes Underworld then went even deeper. I had been told that I was being refunded to my credit card, then they couldn't, then a check was mailed, then the check was sent to the wrong address, that they could and then they could not refund my credit card, that the check was stopped and would be mailed after being processed, and on and on and on and the lies continued. This is abominable business practice is totally unacceptable to a customer who'd been with this company over 20 years.
After 14 weeks of trying to obtain my postage refund, it was only after the intervention of the Better Business Bureau (and the Attorney General's Office in Massachusetts who never responded to my knowledge) things finally began moving forward. I finally received the check and the deposit has gone through. I thought I'd never get refunded. The poor business practices of this company, Pitney Bowes, is abominable and I no longer have to be dragged along with it. Thank You Better Business Bureau!
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Giordano

The absolute worst company! They try to rip you off on ink but we skirt that by using third party. They offer little to no support and when you actually get someone to help you they are incompetent. Going back to stamps...
