If there weren't a sign on Wingthrop Road advertising annuals and perennials, you might mistake the front-facing portion of the garden center for a house. Pull in and continue down the long driveway, and the nursery will appear. Many species of flowers and shrubs are visible and in bloom. The succulent selection is amazing, and we found the prices to be fair. For those who raise succulents, tropicals, or have alpine gardens, Acer sells a high-quality, custom soil blend that is far superior to the commercial options sold at other garden centers.

The diversity of plants is amazing. Even if you don't buy anything (difficulty level:high), you'll enjoy walking around the grounds and greenhouses. Everything you need in a beautiful LCRV enclave.

Today my sister and I attended the Holiday Container Workshop at Acer Gardens. Priscilla was running the workshop and was so attentive and helpful. We both left with gorgeous Christmas centerpieces.

Acers has a great selection of pointsetta plants in various colors & sizes, as well as many beautiful Xmas containers and wreaths.

I sent this e-mail to Acer Gardens on Wednesday to the owners, they did not bother to respond :

"On Monday 6/24 I made the attempt to return a threadleaf Japanese Maple that I had purchased (at a cost of $110) from you last year. As you can see from the attached photos, most of the plant is dead. I was informed by the young lady that presented herself as being “in charge” that the return would not be honored due to her assessment that I had planted the maple in an area that received afternoon sun and she claimed it must be planted in shade. If you zoom in to the photo it is evident on the orange tag that “full sun” is required, while the plant description tag calls for “sun to part shade”. I did not appreciate the young lady’s immediate defensive posturing and confrontational assertion that the plant died because I did not follow directions.

I am an accomplished and experienced gardener and the young lady’s condescending lecture faulting me was neither warranted or professionally acceptable.

I am a long time customer dating back to when you first opened. You are local to me and have always maintained an excellent selection of quality plants. Needless to say I was terribly disappointed in the lack of customer service I received on this occasion as it certainly has not been what I have experienced in the past. Please note that I have never needed to return anything else and only tried this time after my sister told me ”Acer Gardens, they’ll take it back” after she saw the condition of the plant."

Going forward I will look elsewhere for my gardening wants.

The people here spent a lot of time helping us pick out the right shrubs for our beginner garden.
We had a lot of questions and they were super knowledgeable and helpful. Delivery was quick and everything was placed exactly where we requested. Beautiful plants, beautiful place. Thank you!

A little bit off the beaten path but worth the trip. They have a good selection of plants and their prices are good. I think what sets them apart from most other places is their friendly and knowledgeable staff. They will take the time to help you design and/or pick out plants that suits your landscaping needs.

Great place!! They have a big selection of flowers, trees, shrubs, you name it they've got it!! Staff is knowledgeable they're willing to help you out. The place is also huge! Plan to spend some time there. You'll want to let ok at everything. This is now going to be a place I check out every season. I highly recommend coming here.
