Overall, a nice property to stay at. Front desk workers were very polite and made check-in easy.

The hotel has a nice lobby, and small meeting room in the hall. Has a few other nice amenities like a little "market" for snacks and essentials, a gym, and a pool.

My only complaint was noise. You can hear just about anything through the walls and above you. I woke up several times due to hearing voices coming form all over the place and the slamming of doors (but that one was out of my control).

Great place to stay! Only real complaint we had is there’s no privacy in the bathroom. They have a sliding door that closes, but has about a 2 inch gap. It doesn’t close. That was awkward, and we had to have someone make sure no one went past the door when it was occupied. Otherwise, beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we slept well. The place was clean and had a hot breakfast. It was about 5 minutes from the Navy Base. Very convenient. We didn’t go to the pool, but the weight room was nice. The tv had some issues when we first got there, but the guy at the front desk was there within 5 minutes and fixed it. Oh! And the lady at the front desk accused my son of stealing a bottle of water. He had to show her that it was splash water so she’d believe him. Thank God they didn’t sell that there. She gave him dirty looks from there on out. Otherwise… great room!

The best part of our stay was Jose. He greeted us with a smile immediately when we arrived and got us checked in quickly. We arrived in our 1 bedroom King suite room to find that it was 89° and the bedroom was 91°. My husband went downstairs to the desk to complain, and Jose immediately came upstairs to reset the heating unit in each room. He was successful with the living room but not the bedroom. He provided us with a fan and called for a technician. Never once complained or acted as if this inconvenienced him. He went above and beyond. The technician wasn't able to fix the bedroom unit but did at least disable it so it was no longer constantly blowing heat. If it had not been for Jose, we probably would have checked out and went to another hotel. Other than the heating issues, I will say that the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean!

Great stay. Comfortable and clean rooms. Close to everything you need (food, highway, groceries, etc.) The amenities were great including the mini fridge and microwave in the room. My husband was pretty hype about the breakfast. The surrounding area felt safe and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

We spend the weekend to visit Mystic with our children and 2 dogs. Room was clean, beds and pillows comfortable. Adequate continental breakfast. Staff was friendly. My youngest used the pool. It was clean, plenty of towels available. Fantastic location.

My husband, two teenagers and I stayed here two nights to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. It was our first time staying at a Hampton Inn hotel and we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room 418 which was spacious for the four of us and very clean. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was spacious as well. We only spent about 20 minutes in the pool because the water was freezing. The breakfast was good, the attendants were very helpful and frequently replenished the food. We did have an issue with the shower handle and Jose at the front desk tried to fix it himself but couldn't so he placed a work order with maintenance. We were compensated for the inconvenience by Maya the front desk manager. Downtown Mystic was only 10 minutes away while a handful of fast food restaurants were only minutes away. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at the Groton Hampton Inn for three nights while attending a family wedding and visiting with friends. I reserved an accessible room with a roll-in shower. On entering the shower the next morning, I found that the accessible seat was literally pulled away from the wall and not anchored. It was, for a person with mobility challenges, a disaster waiting to happen. It was not fixed during our visit over a long weekend, and we were told there wasn't another roll-in room available. At almost $300/night, this situation was unacceptable. I've called three times since our return to speak with the manager and request at least some accommodation in our bill. Each time, the desk clerk assured me that they would pass the information to the manager. But I've never received a return call. On the last call, I asked for the name and contact information for the owner, having not heard from the manger. The desk clerk didn't know who owned the hotel. My experience with the Groton Hampton Inn hasn't been typical over the more than 20 years we've been staying at Hampton Inns, for pleasure and business, and as Hilton Honors members. I can speak only about the particular room and weekend we stayed, but I'd urge any other person needing accessible accommodations to find another hotel. This one is clearly poorly maintained, and management is not responsive.
