I have been going to the East Hartford dump since 1981. The people who work there are friendly, helpful and have a sense of humor. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they aren't open enough days.

I have no problem with the service but since I have to pay to get in, they should be open on Saturdays. Must people work Monday thru Friday. Why should I have to take time off from my work and lose more money.

I had great customer service at transfer station office on ecology dr.
I was behind a complaining resident. Seemed he had metal in his trash bin and they did not take /empty his bin. He didnt realize small metal could not be picked up and was letting off steam because they didnt come back around on same day to get it after he removed it. (Where I lived prior, it would be straight up....you have to wait till next pick up date) Here, they at least will try to come back around if timing allows. I think that is reasonable. They walked me thru getting a bulky waste permit, with the guidelines. They were nice, professional and trying to be informative and helpful.
Their hours are short, but if this is how our town keeps to a budget, so be it. I'm impressed with the town employees there.

I went there whit a truck 🛻 like this .. it’s supposed to cost $10 but I was charged $ 40 .. is not like I knew .. I had been paying $10 usually but this last time was $40 I’m going tomorrow again and I hope to be able to fix that problem

There is little to no security there and there is a bike path which cuts right through the back as well as through it and not a single soul is there most of the time. You can frequently find the locals just walking in and out of it and even find some children playing around in there too. When there is service it's just terrible and feels rather unprofessional.
