My album “Driftwood Dreams” which Eric and the Dirt Floor team helped me put out surpassed all my expectations as an artist. Each day I showed up to the studio with a new tune to record, Eric was full of energy and ideas. We worked at a quick pace (but not rushed). Each day I left with a rough mix containing fresh drums, bass and keys tracks all better than the parts I imagined in my head and all made up by Eric on the spot. Eric does not settle and the integrity of the song is always at the forefront. He knows when to push, he knows when a take a good and when it’s not. His ability to sing CSN style harmonies on que, in any key is a huge bonus and I can tell you first hand, those harmonies can enhance your song and make your album sound so damn good. Guido is a phenomenal engineer who was able to make edits and mixes on the fly, as each session progressed. If all the epic musical talent, vintage instruments, high end recording equipment and idyllic CT foliage is not enough, Eric and his team are just really nice guys, who know how to make recording fun. I don’t regret a second spent at Dirt Floor and I’m looking forward to making more music with Eric and the team real soon.

Dirt floor is the place to be! If you’re looking to record look no further. Working with both Eric and Guido was like working with two friends of mine that I’ve known forever. I don’t think there was a day that I went into the studio not excited and ready to work. Eric and Guido are both very capable musicians and beyond willing to help in way they can. Seriously, if you want a place to record that feels like home I would 100% recommend dirt floor!

In going into Dirt Floor to record with a friend this past week, I took away a valuable lesson: Tons of amazing musical instruments and top-of-line recording gear, in a bucolic setting alone do not a great recording studio make.

Ultimately it's the care, professionalism, and skill sets demonstrated by those staffing the place that separate the merely sufficient-to-the-task from the truly great. Eric Lichter and, by extension his crack engineer, Guido, exemplify the latter in ways that would take me far too long to explicate here.

So I'll boil it down to this: After having been in my fair share of recording complexes over the years, the ONLY place I would consider for any future projects is Dirt Floor--full stop. The reasons for that statement will become crystal-clear within minutes of getting underway with these guys. The results achieved were beyond my wildest expectations.

It was, in short, a privilege and a pleasure to collaborate with these gifted gentleman. Come for their talents; stay for their dogs!

When your songs are like your children, you want to work with someone that you can trust will take the time to understand them, learn their personalities, see what they need to become the best that they can be. My time at Dirt Floor has been incredible! From the moment I saw the log cabin studio deep in the woods of Haddam, I knew I was in the right place to make great music. The energy in the studio is inspiring, and I felt comfortable there almost immediately.

I can't say enough great things about working with Eric. He made thoughtful and constructive suggestions that ultimately made my song even better. He was quick to jump behind the drum set, or grab a guitar that he thought would fit the song, or lay down some vocals that would nicely complement the music.

Eric's many years of production experience and making incredible music of his own made this project come together beautifully. Working with Eric and his engineer, Guido, was super organic, and the results were everything I had hoped for.

I left the studio feeling incredibly productive about our day, and with a mix of a song that I was in love with. If you are looking for a picturesque place to make great music with great people, look no further than Dirt Floor!!!

I first connected with Eric LIchter/Dirt Floor back in the MySpace days. After getting to know him pretty well online figured it would be a good idea to meet in person. I knew we had a lot of common ground in our musical tastes and knowledge. We did our first sessions back in 2009 and did several more going into the mid-2010s. Now, with one of my daughters now living in Connecticut, I will be recording at Dirt Floor more frequently. The last couple of tracks I did there a few months ago are the best work we've done together.

I'd recommend having a conversation with Eric. If you find that you're both on a similar wavelength, you'll have a very positive experience.

Dirt Floor Recording is truly something magical. Between the beautiful space, vast inventory of equipment, professional and insightful artists, and helmed by a true renaissance man, Eric Lichter, I can't fathom working anywhere else to make music. Dedicated, passionate, and patient, I felt completely supported while recording my original song and couldn't be happier with how Dirt Floor brought it to life. Very grateful to have found this place. It was the highest privilege to sing, write, and create here. I can only hope to return soon and bring even more of my wildest musical dreams to fruition!
