I do almost all if not all of my own construction needs for my home. I have knowledge and experience of woodworking, as it was my profession for 40 years. Today I bought 4 cedar posts for a small fence project and was presented with 3 mediocre and one subpar post. When I made mention that the one post had so many knots as to be defective, he just glowered at me like I was an idiot, indicating that he was reluctant to exchange it. I took it and have since regretted not demanding he replace it. It makes me not want to buy their merchandise, I feel cheated. The sales staff are always helpful, I do like them, but when you can’t pick your quality, it leads to disgruntled customers like myself. It is not ideal given that the product is being chosen for you. I feel like I was dumped on, like I was the stooge they could unload their defective material on. Really a bad vibe.

I needed a specific fence picket to match some broken pickets on an existing fence. Checked both Lowe's and Home Depot, and neither one had the right size. I found RMFP through their ads on Facebook Marketplace, but they had exactly what I needed, and the price was reasonable. I pulled my car into the lumber yard and they loaded it all up for me... great experience, exactly what I needed, couldn't ask for better.

I recommended going to Lowe's or home Depot if you want better wood. This place is garbage. There wood is horrible.

They say 10% or 15% would be trash from buying pickets for Western red cedar rustic for $2.79 per picket. I bought 460 pickets and 250 are bad with holes and very split. So 50% of my order pickets were bad. That's horrible and fall advertisement. They rob you and don't take care of you. Other lumbers have better wood pickets for $3 then this place. Why do I have to pay out of my pocket for your lost of not selling me good wood. Because Lowe's sell better wood pickets for $3.

Lowes sell better pickets than Rocky Mountain Forest Products. Lowes sell pickets at $3 with no holes.
