I'd give them no stars if possible. We had dumpster pickup with Waste Management, who these jokers bought out. We had the same contract as the previous owner (so likely had been almost 5 years of service) under WM. These guys took it over and it's been nothing but a disaster. We have cancelled service and it's been 2.5 months and they still haven't picked up their dumpster.

Numerous missed pickups, no notification that they were delayed, inexperienced driver(s) who couldn't get a truck up our drive. Customer service is terrible and no offering to make anything right, just blow people off and tell you they'll be out at the next available time.

We’ve transitioned from our previous service to APEX, and they consistently do a great job. Our driver, Andrew, is courteous and places our can in the driveway to avoid it being hit by drivers. He hasn't missed a single pickup, even during the recent heavy snowfall. I've received excellent customer service whenever I've called. It’s a straightforward, no-hassle experience.

Worst communication ever; they never return calls or even acknowledge I told them to cease picking up my trash; I quit them and a month later, they have not yet picked up their bin. I am going to consider the bin abandoned and treat it as a gift. I may re-paint it in my new disposal company's colors, just for fun!

Our garbage can was taken even though we did not cancel our service. We were told a “male” called and canceled our services. Neither myself nor wife called to cancel. This was concerning to us, as some random male called and could cancel our services. I did get ahold of someone to amend this and they placed notes in our file. I hope apex can deliver on their end and drop off our garbage can we are paying for.

Unreliable and unresponsive.

Teller County Waste failed to pick up my trash for three consecutive weeks, including the week after Thanksgiving. After the second missed pickup, I called to complain and the customer service representative assured me that my trash would be picked up that day. Instead, Teller County Waste failed for a third time to pick up. I now have more trash than can fit in my two large containers. When I leave it out, animals get into the trash and scatter it all over my property.

Teller County's usual excuse is poor road conditions. However, as the attached pictures show, the road conditions were completely passable and entirely normal for Teller County in the winter months. Heavy delivery trucks, UPS trucks, and liquid propane trucks make it up our road without issue. Teller County Waste uses even the smallest amount of snow as an excuse to refuse pickup.

If your home is on a dirt road, or hillside, or if your roads are not completely clear following a snow storm, Teller County Waste is a bad choice. Like me, you'll be left with mountains of trash, and mountains of excuses, Like me, you'll have to battle with animals digging into your trash, creating an unsanitary and unsightly mess around your home.

UPDATE: it’s now been FOUR WEEKS without trash pickup. Mountains of trash sitting on perfectly clear roads.

UPDATE # 2: I spent $55 out of pocket to take my trash to the dump in my truck. I asked to be reimbursed for this expense, and Teller County Waste refused to do so.

I know a lot of people have some valid complaints about their trash service, but personally, I've experienced top notch service from our Apex Driver. During the holidays, my husband and I forgot to put out our trash (we forgot it was a day delayed). Mind you, we're a family of 5 and our two cans are always full at the end of the week. Missing a trash day would've been rough. Our driver backed into our driveway to empty our cans, even though they weren't on the curb. My husband ran out to thank the driver and he was super kind and courteous about everything. Can't thank you all enough!

It pains me to write this review because I have had great service from Teller County Waste for 10 years. Apex Waste purchased Teller County Waste this year and I was hopeful that the good service would continue. Last week Apex Waste drove by both my and my neighbor's trash bins. We both called to report the non-pickups numerous times. Neither of us received return calls. I finally got through to a live person in the office a couple days later after having left numerous messages. She explained that they were too busy handling incoming calls to check messages (I had left two messages that morning). She said I could have a double trash pick up the next week, but I told her that my trash bin was totally full and I would prefer to have it picked up now. She again said I would be called back, but I never heard anything. The overwhelmed office staff and the non-pickups are indicative of a now monopoly company that has taken on too much work and is trying to cut costs. Too add insult, the rates have just increased. Sad.

Absolutely horrendous service. I guess they can do anything they want, because they are the only trash company around here. Going on four weeks without trash pickup. Every week I call them, I’m told the trash would be picked up the following Monday. I had to leave for a work trip, and the lady assured me I’d have the trash taken away. Came home to the birds decimating my trash all over the street. I am not going to go to the dump, because every time I do, I pick up nails in my tires. Plus, I’m paying for trash service, so they should come get my trash.
