We found what Mitch was doing with some of the remaining trees from the devastating wildfires in Colorado and were intrigued. We first contacted Mitch to make us a sitting bench for the indoors. The results were amazing, it was everything we dreamed of and more. We were so impressed we asked him to make us a patio furniture set and 2 fireplace mantels. Again the results were beyond expectations! Everyone that has seen our treasures have also been impressed with the story and results.
Mitch is a true Artist and Craftsman that will listen to your desires and help you select the right materials and finishes to make your dream come true.

We had 3 orders with Mitch: 1. a gorgeous table for our nook, 2. a live edge mantle for our fireplace, and 3. wood shelves for open shelving. The nook table had to be refinished because the soft wax finish was not appropriate for the every day use and immediately started to show marks from everyday use however that wasn't a problem. Mitch took care of it. the open shelvings are a little warped several months later after installation but we cannot use Mitch to resolve those issues because of his way of handling the mantle.

The issue came with the mantle. He made two corbels to support the mantle and those corbels once installed shrunk (as wood does) and came apart from the wall which almost caused the entire 150lb mantle to come down off the wall. When I called Mitch about this, he was very amenable to fixing the issue and at one point offered his services to help us reinstall the mantle for some dollar amount that he would determine based on the hours. Again, no issues up to this point and actually it was above and beyond what he were expecting. We set a date for him to come do that. On that date, he did not show and did not call my husband to tell him that he was needed to cancel. I was unaware but my husband and him eventually communicated and made a 2nd date to come over at a time that worked for both of them to check it out and possible create a fix. My husband was traveling quite a bit so i was unaware of the phone call or the date that he had set with my husband.

When I called to follow up with Mitch, he started screaming at me that I was hounding him and that he was trying to do me a favor, and there was a reason he had gotten out of contracting, and I need to have better communication with my husband and on and on and on. Now, this was so different from any other communication that I had had with Mitchell so I said...Mitch, "no need to yell at me, no one is yelling at you." And then I relieved him of doing any more favors or work for us around the mantle. I have read the other reviews about Mitch and up to that last conversation we had about a month ago, I would have agreed. But the way he treated someone who placed such a large order with him and who, up until that point, had shown him nothing but appreciation for his work (I wrote him a nice review on instagram), was unacceptable. Sorry, Mitch. I am sure you had a bad day and were super stressed, we all have those but there are other woodworkers in Colorado Springs who have better customer skills. I have found one of them out east and will be spending my money and resources with him. Things ALWAYS go wrong on renovation projects...that's no surprise...but I always judge contractors by the way they deal with the mistakes and Mitch failed.

By far the greatest artwork of Colorado trees I have ever seen. Mitch can make almost anything out of wood and metal. His custom wood mantels, benches, chairs and tables are the best you could own for your home, cabin or campground area.

We purchased rough sawn slabs for shelves and could not be happier with the service we were given and the help we received. Quality materials and woods you can't find at commercial lumber yards.

All I have to say is WOW. I have been looking for a sawmill near me to start getting some lumber for projects that way I don't have to drive 2 hours to where I have been getting it. I was excited to see that there was one only 20-30 minutes away but when I called to get information the lady on the phone was very rude and just keep saying no to having anything i needed and then finally just said " We can't help you"
