John, the owner of the shop kept me going without delay in finishing the GDMBR. I had a rear hub failure and John coordinated with a shop in Pinedale, WY who arranged a drop-shipment of an Onyx hub to Classic Crank so my rear wheel could be rebuilt.

I arrived in Steamboat on Sunday and John immediately started on my bike when he opened Monday morning. The hub was in Steamboat, but the replacement cassette had not arrived. John coordinated with another local shop to provide a cassette and he would in turn restock them with the cassette that was to be delivered the following day. The end result - John had my wheel rebuilt with a new hub and cassette that Monday afternoon and I was back on the trail the following day. Hats off to John for exceptional service and unusual effort to coordinate with multiple shops to ensure we had all necessary parts without delay.

Old school shop with some classic racing bikes on display (and for sale), electric cruisers, parts galore; and they make repairs...
I have an older model Bridgestone bike equipped with a rear-wheel U-brake (Ugh) that needed adjusting. After I bungled the whole operation and was completely stymied I took it in to John and, being the wizard that he is, he had it fixed + adjusted properly in a very reasonable amount of time.
My bike now glides and brakes like a dream. Thanks!

It’s so great knowing there are still good people in this world! We are visiting Steamboat Springs for just a few days. My wife’s cruiser had some wheel/tire/tube issues. John was happy to squeeze us in on short notice and got us all fixed up at a very reasonable price. His shop was tidy, welcoming, and conveniently located. But best of all, John’s friendliness and warmth made our day! After picking up the bike, we had a wonderful, uneventful family ride along the Yampa River Core Trail. Thanks, John!!

This business is great because its owner, John, is a very service oriented fellow. My wife and I were in town while on a roadtrip. We were riding our e Bikes on the core trail. We took a break to do some shopping on Lincoln and when we came back to our bikes my front tire was flat! Luckily we discovered it right across the street from Classic Crank. John greeted us at the door, suggested a nice place for lunch and said he would have it fixed when we returned. And he did! Turns out I had picked up a thorn on my ride and needed a new tube. Very reasonable price for such excellent service! I heartily recommend John and Classic Crank.

This place is great. Got a flat on my mountain bike - John fixed it in half an hour and for a great price. He also recommended some trails for us to take since we’re not from around here. Plus it’s a great location, right in the center of town 🙂

Great little shop with a ton of historic parts. Top shelf steel bikes. Like walking back into Tour De France 1987. Tons of old Campagnolo parts.
