Would certainly start here again. Very comfortable living room area. Older place but very nicely remodeled. Walk to the slopes in less than 5 minutes. This unit is closest to the path healing towards the gondola and the closest building to the hot tub. Bring a fan upstairs from the bedroom to circulate air while you are cooking.

Clean, spacious for 4 adults. Well furnished kitchen. Plenty of extra linens. A washer & dryer inside the unit itself! Lovely gas fireplace which actually heated entire downstairs. Within easy walking distance of base mountain ski/shop/eat facilities as well as the free buses to go into Steamboat Springs. Only things not perfect: 2 people found beds a bit “lumpy”; electric blinds over sliding doors in family room were inoperable so open whole time…I reported 1st day, but no one ever showed to correct…luckily, no one could see in & since winter the view was amazing & room not heated by sun; tv system downstairs needed instructions (to save time using first time!); dishwasher SO quiet, but instructions to open/shut door 3 times to get it started each time would have helped!

Pros: the condo fit all the family. It was clean and in a good location connected to the free parking area (though the parking lot for the West didn't get full at all).

Cons: do not book this condo outside of the actual HOA resort association!!! We booked through Vacasa, and got 0 support from The West, and even Vacasa didn't seem to have good communication with The West. We didn't have sheets for the sofa bed. We didn't have the code for the amenities. There was confusion on the parking pass. The West has posted all over that the front desk and staff do not work with "rental" and to call the appropriate property manager, who told us to then contact the front desk. To that end, I wouldn't book our place again anyways, but those are more issues with the owner / property manager and not The West itself.

Great location right behind base of mountain and super view of the mountain. Condo had all amenities for a worry free stay and next door to the transit center so super easy to get around Steamboat without a car.

I don't know about other units, but this one is very run down and quite depressing overall. The carpet is so old that the offer to "steam" it during our stay would not have made any difference. When you are in the bed you get to look at a large stain on the ceiling. Everything is quite beat-up. Even the Dish TV does not work. The bathroom is tiny, outdated, in poor repair and does not have enough space to store your own toiletries. ||||No matter which unit, be forewarned that the walls are very thin here and there is a general culture of loud parties. There were several apres-ski type parties on our hall when we arrived, and one did not let up by 10 PM limit that supposedly exists. We could not sleep through it. The management (iTrip Vacations) said that to fix that problem it would have to follow the homeowners association protocol. It would not reveal whether that was something that would take hours or months. ||||Regarding the rest of the issues in the unit, the iTrip representative who responded to our complaints basically told us that we should have know from the picture on-line what we were getting ourselves into. Gee thanks! No one would think this place would be so bad based on the exorbitant price we paid and the photos did not capture how sad it is. ||||Also, the carpet in the halls is filthy, which suggests that this place is generally poorly managed regardless of which unit you are in. it gives a terrible first impression. ||||It is not very proximal to the ski hill and is at the absolute limit of how far you will want to walk with your equipment.

Excellent stay at The West unit 3224. This unit was clean with modern decor and an excellent location across the street from Gondola Square. Kitchen was equipped with necessities although Keurig would have been nice. Bath essentials provided. The resort has free shuttle service to take you to local shopping, restaurants, and pick up after a long day on the slopes. Staff was friendly. These units are privately owned so I can only vouch for unit 3224 which is great for a couple or solo traveler. Would highly recommend.

Clean and very nice accommodation at a reasonable price. Big master bedroom with king-size bed, and queen-size bed in the loft area. Very comfortable. Equipped nicely, including dishwasher and Dish TV access. The condo was about 500 yard walk to Gondola.

We are currently in Unit 3238. This is a very small, depressing, and somewhat filthy room. It is just a room and there isn't even a desk to use a computer at. The ceiling is stained, the carpet is dirty beyond the point of being clean-able, there is no storage space, and things are generally outdated and worn out. A highlight is a stained box-spring with no cover on it. (Walls are paper thin here, by the way, which is not the fault of the unit but of the whole building.) So unfortunate! If it were $100 per night, I would say stay here. But for 4 or 5 times the price it is ridiculous! It should be zero stars, but Google requires at least 1 star to post a review.
