Wow, this place doesn’t even have a desk in the room. I had to sit on my bed crouched over my laptop. There’s a restaurant below and they play loud music at night and you can hear everyone talking. I can’t believe this is where I have to sleep tonight. Definitely no balcony! No lobby. This is a $70 room with inflation, not $140. I’m so bummed. All I want is to get some sleep and the music is blaring.

The Bent is just a wonderful place in Silverton. It is great being above a lively restaurant/bar and slept like a king. The manager was very professional and fun to talk to. Would stay there again anytime!

If you’re looking for a hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere this is it. Anything else I would avoid it at all costs. Pictures are misleading. We were under travel advisory due to a Winter Storm Warning and received a full refund from both our rental car company and Southwest Airlines so this isn’t just a petty concern but Nick told us unless they close the road or someone rebooked there would be no refund given. This place is a ghost town 45 minutes from anywhere else in the mountains so if we had stayed and the roads closed we would have been stranded. There is no one to talk to if there is a problem and just like the other reviews the “restaurant” downstairs is closed. Yes the beds are nice but the walls are thin and the rooms are small and basic nothing like the pictures show and barely finished with wires exposed throughout the hallway and no temperature regulation whatsoever so I can only imagine how cold it gets during said winter storms. So unless conditions are perfect or you are stocked for isolation I would 100% avoid this place at all costs. Even the parking was covered in ice and this was the afternoon before the storm was expected. Oh and there was another family staying that arrived as we were leaving they had to walk down the road to find someone (I didn’t see a single person before this) because they were checking in but never received the text for access and only then did Nick text them. I’m still wondering what happened with them as they were the only signs of life left when we were leaving and hadn’t decided what to do. So yes fail on my end for booking without reading the reviews but fail on these owners for being so misleading in their advertising.

Great little room with comfy beds. Lots of creaky floors so you can hear the other people walking around. A little expensive for what it was but the view from the balcony was worth it. No climate control and I was warm at night. Had to leave the window open most of the night. I went in late October and had a great time.

Very clean room and comfortable bed. However the walls are thin and our chatty neighbors kept us up past midnight. Then another had an alarm going off several times first thing in the morning. No temp control in the room and I was cold all night with no warm blankets to be found. So not much sleep was had last night. Unfortunately the resturant was closed last night so can’t comment on that… was looking forward to trying it out. Town was quiet due to time of year.

My husband and I took a last minute trip to Silverton 12/6 and stayed at The Bent Elbow for 3 nights. I booked the room online through their website (it was slightly cheaper than booking it through Airbnb). I called beforehand to get an idea of how the weather was going to be (we drove from Cedar City, UT) and Nick gave us great information on the weather and roads. We got to the hotel late but I checked in online so all we had to do was go upstairs and type a code into the door. If you are an introvert and don't like having to deal with people, this is the place for you! It was so quiet, we only saw 2 other guests in the 3 nights we stayed there. You can get help by texting the "front desk" and they will respond. We needed more coffee in our room because we drink a bunch. I texted asking if they would bring us some more and then we headed out for the day. When we got back, there was a grocery bag on our door handle with a bunch more pods in it for the coffee maker. The room is small and quaint. The bed is comfy. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but that's a pretty common thing in hotels. The only issue...and it's really not an issue...was that everything leans slightly to the left so when your laying in bed, you feel like your leaning a little to one side, the TV and the dresser are all leaning just a little (my husband is a maintenance/handy man and notices these things). It's not SUPER noticeable, except when you are on the toilet. Be careful when you sit down, I leaned over to the side too far and almost fell off the toilet TWICE LOL...they might want to look into that haha. The toilet seat is a little loose so hopefully they will tighten it and it shouldn't be a problem anymore.
The price was great, cheaper than any of the motels in Durango. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to stay again! Thank you so much for having us!

A great place to stay in Silverton! Very clean and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located to many places of interest and highly recommend the restaurant next door, El Bandito! Would stay again if I ever pass through again. It is a beautiful town - like going back in history. The views are stunning and the locals are friendly and very welcoming.

1. Overcharge. I booked the room via hotels.com with a price of $231. The owner has charged me $276 without any explanation. I contacted the property without any response.

2. No communication. When I arrived in the evening after the Durango train ride, the town was dark and the building entrance is nowhere to be found. I called the phone number in the message sent by presumably the owner Nick, there was no response. No apparent sign anywhere on the building and finally found the door after asking the bar downstairs.

3. Terrible sound insulation. Throughout the night, you can hear music downstairs (it’s a bar), talking from neighbors, floor creaking and loud popping sound from walking in other rooms.

I still don’t have any communications about the charge, but kept receiving automated messages to review this property from the owner Nick. Not sure where the good reviews come from at all. Here is an honest one.
