Such a special place. Like stepping back into history but with one of the most unique “ski areas” just down the road.

There are so many great things about this hotel; the time period look and feel, cleanliness, and genuinely good people run it! I’m excited for when me and my wife return.

My wife and I had our wedding reception here, we reserved both their banquet and theater rooms, and it turned out perfect!! Every step of the way Jim and Lesley were there to help us get organized and answered our many questions.

Our bedroom was clean, had beautiful wood furnishings, and had an awesome view of the town and mountains.

The hotel was beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable. Old world charm with modern conveniences. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The only reason I did not rate this a 5 was that the pillows were hard and flat for me. This is a personal preference, but it would not deter me from staying here again. I loved my stay.

Great period hotel. Built in 1882, a lot of original everything in this place. Very old fashioned, but I loved it. Stayed here twice, in sept, assigned the same room both times. Sept is the end of the summer tourist season, so expect crowds during the day, empties out at night, some restaurants are starting to close for the winter, but most are open, only until 8ish, maybe 9pm. Even though it's still the busy season, we were able to book a room just a few hours before our arrival. Staff was adequate, building was great, room was great, silverton is one of my top favorite places to go in the entire U.S. One drawback, there is no soundproofing in the walls, so you can hear a lot of activity from other rooms and the hallways. I'm a heavy sleeper, so I wasn't bothered by it, but my companion found it to be a problem..... however, he would still stay there again, as would I.

This is a very cool old hotel from the late 1800s it was also used in the movie Snowball Express in 1972. We will stay there our next trip to Silverton!

Very nicely furnished to old time western period . But the very best part was the service by James Harper, president , who went above and beyond to make our stay at his fine hotel a memorable one by personally shuttling us all the way to Durango to retrieve a forgotten medical device when Uber or Lyft were not available. Kudos to James for such wonderful caring service !!

Regrettably overpaid for nice big corner room with king and great views. Fire escape door at the end of the hall was tied open all night. Slight sewer gas smell. Then a five hour regional power outage in the morning. Obviously no hot water and dark bathroom. I requested possible discount or voucher for a future stay and was offered discount at the closed restaurant.

We stayed one night in the Grand historic lady (141 years old). Our room - 205 was decorated in the Victorian period time with the comforter and antique room decorations. Since there are no elevators it was a short walk up the grand staircase to our room. The Bathroom was updated with modern features and including a great shower. We enjoy the Lacey Rose saloon attach to the hotel. Atmosphere, food, and service was exceptional. The hotel is located well for evening walks thru Silverton.
