It’s hard to put into words how amazing Jeff and his staff were, while there are a few options for wedding/ event catering in western Colorado / Telluride I was looking for THE BEST… & that’s exactly what I found! From start to finish Jeff’s attention to detail was outstanding, he curated a menu not only I would love but my guest RAVED about! His teamed provided service I have never received anywhere else, they went over and beyond any expectations I had, not sure where he found these amazing people but they were 10/10! I recommend Backcountry Catering for any event or wedding! Thank you again for being a part of our special day! 🤘🙂

Jeff and his team catered our wedding and completely delivered. The food was outstanding and a lot of our guests mentioned to us that the food was so much better than what they expected to get for dinner at a wedding. The meal was extremely memorable and the service was great throughout the night. Jeff also worked with our wedding planning team in advance to make sure we had all the right serving plates and pieces to complete the meal. Overall we had an awesome experience with Backcountry Catering!

As a wedding planner, I have had the privilege of working with Jeff and his team on several weddings and they are simply the best! They curate some of the most unique menus and each one is phenomenal. I have never had a dish that I didn't love from them and crave later! The guest's always leave raving.
The team he has assembled always provides incredible service that goes above and beyond. If you are looking for a caterer, you will not find better food or service! Highly recommend.

We planned our own wedding. That was a lot of work. At times we felt overwhelmed, yet we wanted a ceremony and reception that was not only memorable for ourselves, but also for our friends and family. So from the time we first contacted Jeff & Stefanie at Backcountry, to the very end, all I have to say is, WOW! What an experience using Backcountry Catering.
Jeff & Stefanie were incredible to work with, calmed our fears, and in my opinion went above and beyond in everything they did for us. Planning was super easy with them. Never once did they make us feel like a burden or an interruption. From menu selection, site inspection, to the execution of the reception itself was absolutely a wonderful experience.
Jeff’s staff is just as amazing. Every one of them were excited to be there, excited for our wedding, and were engaging with our guests and just made the reception an incredible time. I must say that when Jeff and his crew showed up on the day of the wedding, they took charge of getting our tables and place settings (which was a huge relief); everything was gorgeous. Very professional, and very friendly. Our guests made a lot of comments about how friendly the staff was.
I am still getting feedback from our friends and family that #1 - it was THE BEST wedding food they’ve ever had, and #2 - it was THE best wedding that many of them have ever attended — and that I attribute solely to Jeff and his crew.

Jeff and Stefanie catered our intimate wedding in Telluride in June 2022, and we truly could not recommend them more! Although wedding season in Telluride is very hectic, Jeff was always responsive and let us know that he was prioritizing us, even with our small wedding size (<30 guests). Up to the last minute, they went out of their way to make sure that the menu was exactly perfect for us and our guests, including making last minute changes to better accomodate dietary restrictions. All of our guests (literally, ALL) commented on how the food was the best food at a wedding that they have ever had. Jeff and Stefanie and their team were SO professional and had the most beautiful layout of hors d'oeuvres, concocted the most amazing margaritas, and put together an insanely beautiful dinner for us on our special day. We even had amazing leftover Wagyu flank steak that we ate on our way home from Telluride (our family was fighting over it, it was so delicious). If you're looking for private catering or catering for a wedding in Telluride, truly couldn't recommend Backcountry Catering more. Jeff and Stefanie, we are so excited that you get your celebrate your own day so soon! Thank you so much for helping make ours so special!

If you are looking for a private chef, caterer, private function or wedding caterer, including bar service….stop looking…..you have found them! My daughter-in-law and I conducted research by attending Taste of Telluride. We tried many chefs’ food, Jeff’s corn soup stood out as our favorite dish of the evening. We did not stay for Top Chef Telluride but it so happens Jeff won that year, his first I believe. Jeff did a tasting menu at our home as we were trying to settle on dishes for my son’s wedding. We ended up ordering every dish he prepared for the wedding menu. Jeff and his partner Stefanie made us so comfortable being served in our home, a new experience for us. They were professional, clean and service was spot on. They left my kitchen spotless. My husband and son could not stop eating the meat Jeff prepared. He bought several cuts of beef for us to try so we could choose our favorite. It was fun tasting and voting. We also did two other tastings in town at different restaurants. None compared to Jeff’s food in uniqueness and deliciousness! That is what we wanted to serve to our guests, delicious food. We are Jeff and Stefanie’s first wedding! You would never ever know it. We were going to hire a separate service for the bar but it did not work out, so we asked Jeff if he would take on the challenge of the bar as well as food and service? He stepped up to the plate. They went above and beyond in communication, planning, wedding preparation the day prior and day of wedding. Jeff also catered our rehearsal dinners, we had two. One at our home, one at the home we rented for the reception and wedding party to stay in. The staff was top notch and made us all feel very special. When we entered the reception Jeff and Stefanie and staff had set up the home beautifully. All of our guest felt welcomed and at home. Many stated it was the best wedding they had ever attended, Jeff and Stefanie and staff hired by Jeff were a LARGE part of that feeling. The food was outstanding and unique and most important delicious!!!! You cannot go wrong hiring Backcountry Catering for your large or small event. And now they have a mobile kitchen! He can even make pizza and bbq! My husband and I have to have another event so we can have Jeff and Stefanie cook in their mobile kitchen. Unique and delicious!

Jeff and Stephanie are great people to work with and I highly recommend reaching out to them for your next event! My wife and I had a small wedding in Telluride, and they were able to come up with a simple custom menu for our families that left everyone satisfied. We had a drop off order and they were easy to communicate with when scheduling the delivery and very thorough with the directions to reheat the meals. Our wedding was in April, which is the off season in Telluride, and we were having trouble even getting any of the local companies to respond to us. Jeff was one of 2 to respond and the only one in the area that was open and willing to help us out. Our wedding turned out perfect, and they were a big part of making our special day such a success. Everything they made was absolutely delicious and I wish I lived closer to their service area so that I could try more of their menu!

We had the privilege of working with Jeff and Stef for our wedding. My wife has a laundry list of food allergies and at the same time we wanted a menu that would have people saying “this is one of the best meals we’ve ever had.” And that’s what we got, a meal carefully catered towards all our needs that absolute wowed everyone. Beyond that, these are wonderful caring people who also arranged a fabulous staff, and were easy to communicate with throughout the process! We come to Telluride often and look forward to planning future events with them, and also at this point consider them friends who we look forward to simply hanging out with as well. So if you need a caterer for any sort of event in Telluride, you really do not need to look any further, trust me they are the absolute best!
