The downtown market is owned by a local family; the meat is supplied by their own local farm. The store is a great place to shop and support your local farmers! They offer grass fed/finished angus beef, top quality all-natural lamb and pork, all-natural sausage links, breakfast sausage, beef and pork bacon (natural preservatives and nothing artificial). Many local products line the shelves, beautiful gift items, Texas wines, some craft beer, beer and wine are for sale by the glass while you shop, if you choose. There is a wine tasting room that is often available for customers to stop in and sip a glass of wine while out shopping with friends. The wine room is also available to rent. There is a small but exquisite collection of cheeses from Wisconsin and Georgia (some raw); local raw honey, creamed honey, maple sugar, Mexican vanilla and other baking supplies; cheese making supplies, sourdough starters, among other non-perishable gift items such as delectable smelling candles, vintage hand stamped spoons, maple/marble cutting boards, dish towels, serving utensils, Fredericksburg Cast Iron skillets, leather trivets, Swedish dish cloths, home decor & more. There sausage is so much better than the stuff you get in the grocery store. No BS just real ingredients can definitely feel and tell a difference I got there beef pan sausage. Rlly good stuff. Most the stuff there is too expensive for my liking but I've picked up some sausage and organs and everything has been great so far ?

Awesome trip downtown, finally seeing the Ruby Cattle Company in person. The decor is retro and homey, relaxing and inviting, in what used to be the pharmacy and general goods store. It's truly a step back in time and has been lovingly restored. Infused olive oils, bbq sauces, sugared bourbon pecans, beef jerky, awesome gourmet foods made daily, packaged to take home, like meat loaf, steak burritos, lasagna, chicken salad with big flakey croissants, so much more! That doesn't even cover their big selection of beef. They also offer packages in big and small assortments, and will soon carry wine and host wine tastings on Friday nights. Worth the trip, worth the trip, worth the trip! Our little town is growing by leaps and bounds, and Ruby Cattle Company is certainly a big jewel in our crown! Ruby Cattle Company carries just about every cut of meat you can imagine! From sliced liver, sliced heart, tongue, cheek meat and all your favorite steaks and roasts. They even carry beef bacon! They source fresh gulf shrimp, chicken and pork from other local companies. They even carry a variety of Texas Wines and craft beers not typically seen in the area...all of your BBQ needs and much more. Excellent beef! My wife and I love to cook the oxtail with rice and beef tongue tacos as often as we can.

I don’t know what the two other one stars are talking about. This place has the best meat I have ever tasted and the absolute best customer service!!! The beef is literally amazing!! They are a deep red that you could never find in the grocery store, they are grass fed but don’t taste gamey like some grass fed meat. They are way softer than any store bought meat and I have the most energy after eating these stakes. I have mast cell activation and I am very sensitive to any foods with chemicals, I can guarantee these are the cleanest stakes out there!! They are cleaner than the organic beef at the grocery store because they don’t give me any allergic reactions or flare ups they make me feel great. If you’re going carnivore or lion diet for health reasons this is the place to go!!! In fact I love their meat so much I give it as gifts and people love it! I also ordered half a cow from them and got the same quality meat through and through. The tallow I made from the fat was so clean as well. The only thing I don’t recommend is the mechanically tenderized stakes those have an odd texture. Now the pig, I’m not big on pork but their pork is like no other, it’s acorn fed and it gives the pork a clean nutty flavor it’s amazing, my husband loves it too. Also the customer service is amazing as well, yes sometimes things are sold out because the meat is so good, but you can just call the shop to see what’s in or when it will be restocked they are always happy to help. Thank you Rubby Cattle for what you do we need more companies like you in the world!

Welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable team. Beth provided information about their meat products, wine selection and tasting. The building is about 100 years old. Stop by for some delicious wine. They have a tasting room available too. We’ll be sure to stop in when we’re in town again.

Ruby Cattle Company by far has the best meat I have ever tasted, and this is no exaggeration. All of the steaks are always tender and juicy on every type of cut you get, and the beef jerky and ground beef are amazing too. Highly recommend!
