DO NOT USE THEM. We raise pigs for 4-H and we used them once for one the pigs we kept. I had to call several times for updates on our meat. When we received it, it was the most expensive processing I have ever had. And not by a little, but by a lot, almost double as other processing I have had done. I requested plastic wrap on the packaging under the butcher paper. None of our packages had plastic wrap. The plastic wrap cost 1.00 per package more. When I called about that they were rude but did give me credit of $27.00, when we had a lot more packages than 27. We also had bacon and sausage that wasn't with our boxes. When I called looking for it they said they would let me know. After they called and said they found it we went to pick it up. It had so much freezer burn and the packaging look like it had been in the freezer for months. Plus there were not as much bacon or sausage as there should have been. When we pulled out the first package to eat it was horrible. The smell of it defrosted and cooking was the worst smell I had ever smelled. Then the taste was stomach turning. That dinner went in the trash. We tried 2 other packages and they were the same. The whole pig was worthless.

I have had a couple customers who have used them and thought that it was our pig that was bad. It is the processor. I recommend to everyone who buys a goat or pig from us to stay away from mountain meats.

A friend went and observed them once and I was told that they don't give you the animal you bring in. They say a pig is a pig, or beef is beef. Doesn't matter how you feed it or care for it. They will give you whatever they have new or old.

Most money I have ever thrown down the drain on garbage. After purchasing the pig, feeding him out, and processing cost me over $1200 for a freezer full of trash.

If I could give 0 or negative stars I would.

This is the first time we used Mountain Meats for our pigs and we will not be using them again. Our cutting instructions were not followed on several animals and some cuts were labeled incorrectly. Our name was wrong on printed labels on product and boxes, packaging sizes were very inconsistent (ham roasts smaller than steaks and hocks ranging from 1 lb to 4 lbs), and paper wrap was used when we had requested vacuum-seal. I spoke with Gary about our concerns and he was polite but refused to refund us for the roughly $3k in lost revenue to us because of wrong cuts. We were very disappointed with the quality of work done and cannot recommend Mountain Meat Packing.

I would give ZERO stars if I could, STAFF SUPER RUDE!!

My partner went on a high fence hunt for his birthday out of town so we came here looking for somewhere close to where we had been staying. They told us we’d have our meat in 3-4 weeks and that we would be notified through-out the process. They called us for payment 2 weeks later and everything was fine.

Another week later and we hear nothing. So I called for an update which I was told that the shipping company they partner with had picked up the meat and would be in contact with us for further payment. Great!! We’re excited for our jerky and ground venison. I called back to get the shipping number as they hadn’t called. WELL the shipping company called me this morning to let me know that they have no idea who we were and never picked up our meat.

We called the processor after to see if they gave us the wrong number, find out who was holding our meat, and well how to proceed. The employee we ended up speaking with told us they had the wrong number on file and couldn’t contact us so we said we’ll give them our number to get this moving. Which the employee responded “you don’t have to be a jack ass about it” then proceeded to call my partner a “little b”.

We are so beyond confused and disappointed. Don’t recommend the Craig location either they were no help.

This business was TEMPORARILY CLOSED DOWN IN 2023 DUE TO INHUMANE ANIMAL PROCESSING!! Should’ve done more research before we chose this unprofessional company.

Took 3 cows to be processed and 2 of my beef cut sheets were switched. This mistake cost me the prime cuts of one beef. Also wanted the liver, heart and tongue saved. What was given to me was dated January, not from my animal. So incredibly disappointed!!

Hands down, the best pig processing we've had done! Additionally, we buy all of our beef from Mountain Meat. It's always fresh, great tasting and less expensive then the local supermarket. Always happy!!!

I’ve been dealing with them now for a couple of years and our pork and beef have been great. Always a pleasure to do business with.

The person I bought the hog from said that Mountain meats would call me with the cut sheet, but they never did so I had to call them. They told me that my meat would be ready in a week or two and they would call me but they never called me back. I’ve tried to call them twice now and left messages, but they have not returned my call. Very disappointed.
