Great hiking trails!! There is a day use fee of $5.56 per adult (can be purchased online), unless you have a valid hunting and fishing license. Well worth it. Lots of shaded areas, amazing trails with lots of wild flowers that go next to the creek. Less crowded than most of the other trails next to San Diego. Dog friendly as well!!

You have to pay almost 6$ for this hike. I’m not sure if everyone would like this hike. Not a single person around and felt bored within an hour or more. There will be pretty view and greenery if you’re going on season but right now it just looks dry and boring. Be aware of bees near the small river crossings.

Now one of my new favorite hiking areas in east San Diego (actually Jamul). Very peaceful. Very serene. A ton of vegetation changes, a hawk, a coyote and an easy 5 mile loop trail with only about 680ft of Elevation gain. Was well worth the $4.89 forest service fee one has to pay to use this area. Free if you bring a current CA fishing or hunting license. .

This is a great Wildlife Area!. Creeks, hills and miles of trails. Great non mountain bike trails (non motorized!), awesome horseback riding and trail running. You'll need a Hunting or Fishing license to walk on the property and if you do not have either one of those, you can pick up a day pass or annual pass called a *Lands Pass* online at the California Department of Fish & Wildlife website. I fish every year so it doesn't cost me extra to go on the property. I just carry my Fishing License and ID so I'm not at risk of a ticket. The Lands Pass is super cheap, just make sure you have a CDFW license or pass so you don't get turned back or even worse a ticket & fine. This is a designated State Wildlife Area your national parks passes & national forest passes or senior passes do not apply. Awesome hiking!

This place is gorgeous and did not have one single piece of litter on the trail. I intend to return soon! I recommend downloading all trails if you’re new to hiking.
